For defects en route or at destination. 12% total, including10% for fruit having permanent defects; 7% for defects causing very serious damage, including 5%

for very serious damage by permanent defects and not more than 3% for decay or wormy fruit.

Good Delivery Guidelines:
15% total, including 8% very serious damage, including 5% decay

Common Defects:

Damage by:

(a) Dryness of Mushy Condition: Affecting more than 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) at stem end, or the equivalent by volume, when occurring in other portions the fruit.

(b) Skin Breakdown: Aggregating more than a circle 3/4 inch (19.1 mm) in diameter.

Serious damage by:

(a) Dryness of Mushy Condition: Affecting more than 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) at stem end, or the equivalent by volume, when occurring in other portions the fruit.

(b) Skin Breakdown: Aggregating more than a circle 1 inch (25.4 mm) in diameter.
