Tolerances

10% total defects, including 5% for serious damage, including 2% for decay.

Good Delivery Guidelines:
15% total, including 8% serious damage, including 4% decay

 

Common Defects:

Damage by:

(a) Bruising when more than 2 leaves are materially bruised. 

(b) Discolored leaves when more than 2 leaves are materially discolored (Yellow, brown, or reddish brown discoloration).

(c) Peeling and feathering when more than 2 leaves are materially affected.

(d) Russet spotting when present in any degree on more than 2 leaves, or when the number, size, and color of the spots materially detract from the appearance of any leaf.

(e) Tipburn when the aggregate area exceeds that of a rectangle 1 inch in length by 1/2 inch in width.

(f) Watersoaked areas when more than 2 leaves materially detract from the appearance of the plant.

 

Serious damage by:

(a) Bruising when more than 4 leaves are badly bruised. 

(b) Discolored leaves when more than 4 leaves are seriously discolored (Yellow, brown, or reddish brown discoloration).

(c) Peeling and feathering when more than 4 leaves are materially affected.

(d) Russet spotting when seriously detracts from the appearance.

(e) Tipburn when the aggregate area exceeds that of a rectangle 3 inch in length by 1 inch in width.

(f) Watersoaked areas when more than 4 leaves seriously detract from the appearance of the plant.
